What are moving skills?

Fundamental movement skills categories include: Balance skills – Movements where the body remains in place, but moves around its horizontal and vertical axes. Locomotor skills – such as running, jumping, hopping, and galloping. Ball skills – such as catching, throwing, kicking, underarm roll and striking. The fundamental movement skills to be developed through Health and Physical Education include: locomotor and non-locomotor skills — rolling, balancing, sliding, jogging, running, leaping, jumping, hopping, dodging, galloping and skipping. There are seven basic movements the human body can perform and all other exercises are merely variations of these seven: Pull, Push, Squat, Lunge, Hinge, Rotation and Gait. When performing all of these movements, you will be able to stimulate all of the major muscle groups in your body. There are 4 types of movements: reflex, postural, rhythmic and voluntary.
