How do I know if a letter from TV Licensing is genuine?
If you are registered as ‘No Licence Needed’, we’ll include that reference number instead of your TV Licence number. A scam letter will often tell you there is a problem with your licence or that you are due a refund. This is to try to get you to go to a fake website or call a fake number to sort it out.
Do I have to respond to TV Licensing?
If you have just told us you don’t need a licence and then receive a letter from us a day or so after, this is usually because our records are being updated. You don’t need to respond. Find out more about when you need a TV Licence.
